Life Story for Megan Perkins

Megan Christine Perkins of Hood River, Oregon passed on April 10, 2018 at Providence Portland Medical Center. She was born on October 16, 1965 at Hood River Hospital to Claudia and Bill Perkins.

Megan grew up in Hood River with her younger sister, DenaRae, and graduated from Hood River Valley High School in 1983. She dedicated her life to music, participating in band where she played clarinet, choir, and musicals. Megan attended Northwest University where she met her first husband, Steve Ballweber. She became a mother for the first time when her daughter, Stevani Christine Ballweber was born on June 26, 1987. She remarried on March 26, 1994, to Eric Roush and had her second child, DesiRae “Lulu” Roush on December 20th, that same year.

Throughout her life she dedicated her time to her church involved in children’s ministry and worship team. She volunteered her hours for 21 years to the Mid-Columbia Lions Follies, starting as a performer and contributing the last few years as their vocal director. She leaves behind not only her own family, but the families that she built at church, Lions Follies, and throughout her communities. She is survived by her two daughters, her grandson, Anthony Schu, her parents, sister, and nieces and nephews, as well as her honorary family members.

Viewing times are on Friday April 20th at Anderson’s from 5pm-7pm with family present, and 2pm to 3:30 pm on Saturday April 21st at River of Life Assembly of God. Celebration of Life Service will be held at River of Life Assembly on April 21st at 4pm.

Memorials in Megan’s name are encouraged to be made to River of Life Assembly where a fund has been established for her grandson, Anthony.
